I ran a bunch of bulk 338 brass just far enough into the sizing die to round out the necks and then trimed them. Do you think you will see a higher degree of accuracy after these cases have been fired once and properly sized than the first time you shoot them as new brass?

In a match grade rifle in a 1000 yd match --yes a slight one.....but that's what wins matches.

In an average hunting rifle to 300/400 yds.....nope.

But you did what you have to do to virgin brass just to make it loadable so you didn't waste any time doing it....it had to be done!

JMHO!!!!

You certainly did the right thing with the case mouth. A couple weeks ago I shot 10 rounds into a 1" hole with new brass. That would satisfy most people I think for hunting purposes.

It depends on how tight your original chamber is. If it's min. spec. probably little improvement. If it's a bit on the large side, you could see a decent iprovement. Only way to know is shoot some.
