I picked up a 7mm-08 for my daughter and a set of dies, casings and 140 gr. Barnes bullets. Does anyone have any pet load data they would be willing to share?

Hughiam,
You wont go wrong with H4895.
Hodgson say 40.5 grn with the 140 bullet you,ll get around 2,800fps. You should work up to that.
This powder is very versatile using reduced loads for youngsters.
Look it up on their site, you wont be disappointed.
Good luck, great caliber.jc

My load with 140 gr. TSX bullets is 47 gr. H4350 in Rem cases with Fed 210's. Is a max load in my rifle so work up.

For the 140gr bullet in the 7mm-08 at 2800-2900fps:

42.0grs Varget/AR2208

47.0grs H4350/AR2209

Work up to these but pretty standard in most rifles, some will find better accuracy with Varget and others H4350.

Drop down to the 120 gr TTSX and push it with 44-45 grains of RL-15. Your rifle should like one of those loads in 0.5 grain increments. Plus, it is deadly even on elk!

Mine likes Varget. I dont shoot Barnes, but partitions group very well.

Here's a reduced recoil load I developed for my 12 year old daughter. I'm working on a heavier load with 150 gr Game Kings currently, but not done.

120 gr Sierra Pro-Hunter
2,640 fps (20” barrel)
CCI #200 Primers Remington Case COL 2.780”
41.0 gr Varget

Exactly what I use with 140 or 150 gr bullets - powder charge adjusted of course.

I get sub 1" groups with 1509 gr TSX.

I have taken game out to 330 meters + with those loads. Into my 8th reload with the brass - so they are not hot loads.
