A friend reloads for me. I bought and gave him everything he needs and he does a great job. However, on the 6.5cm that 160 grain round nose is hitting the rifling before the bolt can close. The first he tried had to go so far in its compressing the powder and is still too long. The normal 143 eld-x are tapered so they seat these are just not doing it. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I don't load for it but a buddy of mine does and said he can't seat the 153's in far enough for his rifle. He wanted to try some match bullets. You could try a faster burning powder but you will most likely lose velocity.

Have you thought of having the throat extended? I had the same problem over 30 years ago on my 6.5/308 unlimited pistol. I had my gunsmith extend the throat so I could use the longer 160 gr. bullets. Accuracy was not affected by my experience. Geoff Shooter

Yes! Either change to a faster burning powder so there's more room to seat the bullet deeper into the case of have it throated deeper but only IF YOU'RE GOING TO STICK WITH THIS BULLET. My 2 cents, Zeke

Those old antiquated bullets are no good anyway. You need a more "modern" bullet for that rig. I talked to my old antiquated 6.5 and he said he would be happy to dispose of them for you. AK-47 The only Communist Idea that Liberals don't like.
