This is the fisrt time I purchased any, bought 2, 100 count boxes of 6.5 x 284. I sized them and started neck wall thickness checking.

4 pieces .001 or less
14 pieces .001-.002 most at the high side
12 pieces .002-.004

gave up and started comparing Norma brass in 300 wsm and 257 wby (wby headspamped), checked 20 each and didn't find one out over .001.

What results do you get when neck thickness checking your lapua brass?

I don't have numbers handy, but my Lapua cases do not vary as little as .001" in neck wall thickness. Just off the top of my head, I'm guessing I relegate about 20-25% of my cases to "fowlers" for this reason.

My exact criteria vary depending on what I'm going to use the cases for - e.g. target shooting vs. hunting.
