Does anyone here use this stuff? I have an old 8X57 Millsurp with a fairly rough bbl and thought some of that might help it get some better groups.

How many shots is it good for?

It will produce better groups but only with a few rounds (10-20) then you have to clean and reapply the moly paste.
Its mostly used to season barrels for moly bullets.

Regards.

I use the Lyman moly bore paste in my two most accurate rifles.

I really burnish the stuff in. Then when I shoot, there is so much it comes back around the brass, making the brass dirty on the outside. Ever try to get a moly stain out of you clothes? I think the bore paste makes acid when it gets to hot. I have to clean with baking soda disolved in water.

Why put up with the stains and extra bore cleaning? Because I am getting such great groups, with no 50 rounds of moly for break in. Great groups with one fouling shot.
