Hi, I would like to see if any of you great guys can run the numbers thru Quickload for a .22 Hornet 45gr SP using IMR 4198. I have found IMR4198 listed in the IMR powder reference data for the 22 Hornet, as well as Speer #13. I am curious to see what the computer model is for this combo, I couldn't find any IMR4227 at the store, but they did have a 1 lb. cannister of IMR4198. I know that each rifle is different and that my rifle will show unique pressure handling, but what little info I have access to does not give good pressure data. My little Ruger M77/22H is not real happy with the H110 that I am currently working with so I would like to try something different, and I have IMR4198 to try. So far Hornady 40gr A max is okay, but she don't like 40gr NBT. Maybe going up to a 45gr and slower powder. Thanx Sonar59

From Speer #8 Manual: 45gr bullet 11.5 gr IMR 4198 2433 MV, 12.0 gr - 2533 MV, 12.5 gr - 2632 MV I don't think you could get enough 4198 into the Hornet with a 45 gr to be a problem, but hey each rifle is different, so work up your own load for saftey sake. Good luck & good shooting. Member NRA, SCI- Life #358 28+ years now! DRSS, double owner-shooter since 1983, O/U .30-06 Browning Continental set.

Dooh, more typo's, I meant V max not A max, and I have Speer manual #11, not 13. Three little people asking questions while trying to post. 308Sako, thanks for the info I was curious what what Quickload output data would be, I can't afford at this point to get the software but still just wondering what the computer model would look like. Just like you stated, it could be that IMR4198 would fill the case and not be a problem. Just getting any resource data I can. I may have forgot info like outta a 20" barrel with standard primers, Win cases. Thanks again, Sonar59
