Like my good friend 460Wby up here in the Norwegian forests, I need some motivation in the long lasting and dark Norwegian winter evenings(not to mention the nice hot and bright summer evenings). I’m in the pre-collector phase, but very ambitious, so if anyone out there in the great world of shooters and hunters have a dummy – cartridge(only brass and bullet) they need a Norwegian home for, please send it to "The Worlds fastest growing cartridge-collection" [Roll Eyes] . For exchange I can offer a .358 Norma Magnum, .416 Taylor, 8x68 S, 9,3x62 or...

E-mail me and tell me what you have and what you need.

I think most responders have already sent cases to Arild and aren't ready to mail another one..

On-the-other-hand, I have not yet sent my package. If you and Arild agree, I'll send two of everything that I can find. To save postage, I'll mail only one package and the two of you can sort them out!

I guess you are right captn. There is never a good idea to copy someone elses concept. But, if you never try

Great if you have the opportunity to mail 2 of what you have to Arild. We post to each other almost every day, so there is no problem sorting out some cartridges.

I have a box that I am putting the cartridges in--there are one or two wildcats that I am tracking-down for you, but the rest of this month is busy for me, so I don't expect to mail them befor the first week of July.

Thats ok captn and thanks again [Smile]

By the way, Ive been busy today. Take a look at my list [Big Grin]

A question for everybody: I have a cartridge and dont know what it is. It looks like a 7,62x39, but the case is just about 33 mm long and the bullet diameter is 8,2 mm. It looks like a military cartridge. Any suggestions [Confused]

Peter

You should get into the habit of starting a new topic for a new question. Many people will not have seen this question.

Also, include important information such as any headstamp data and whether or not the case is rimmed. Additionally, it helps to have data as to shape--bottlenecked or straight, size at base, etc.

For instance, your description could lead to:

.30 US Carbine--straight case, rimless. It would be close to 8mm if the taper were removed and a larger bullet seated.

.32-20 W.C.F.--bottlenecked case with a rim.

7 x 33 SAKO--rimless, bottlenecked case that had been opened up to 8.2 mm.

Arild is probably correct, though.

Cheers, the_captn

Arild, I guess you can find some holes in my list, and maybe there are others out here whom can help me out. I have given my collection its own place in my reloading room, and I have discovered that it is far more interesting to read about a cartridge when you actually hold it in your hand.
