I developed a load for the 264 Super Grade with these. Mann 3400 fps and 1/2" at 100 all day long! Awesome. Unfortunately the gun does not like the 125 Partitions ( so far but I keep trying< !--color--> ). How will this bullet do on mule deer? Any experiences out there with this bullet? Any input will be appreciated. Thanx!

Well, I don't have a 264, but I used the 120 gr BT to take a doe with my 260 remington. The shot was taken at about 130 yds, quartering towards me. The wind pulled the bullet to the left a bit harder than I had anticipated, and I hit just behind the shoulder, instead of the point inside of it. The bullet hit two ribs going in, destroyed the liver and the forward portion of the stomach. It did not exit. From the wound in the rib cage, it almost looked as though the bullet split on impact- kind of what it'd look like if someone had helf a double barrel up to the deer and fired both barrels. Needless to say, the deer died quickly- had it hit in the heart/lung area, I'm sure they'd have been jellied pretty well. Your mileage may vary. coot

Have used an identical load on 2 whitetail does Pop . On the 300+ yard shot , the bullet made it thru the upper shoulder and neck area and exited. One shot (foolishly) running away in the rump was floored with a broken spine . I think they are OK if you pick your shots carefully...........those things sure do like to drop into one hole on the paper, eh ?

Pop, For me, 140gr Partitions are the only bullets to use in a 264, but I have had excellent results with Hornady 129gr Interlocks also. I have taken two Cow Elk with the 129 Hornady's, One shot kills, 45% retained wieght and the cores did not separate from the jacket. They should be just the ticket for Mule Deer. I have used the 115gr NBT in a 257 Wby for Mule Deer for the last 5 years. When hit just behind the shoulder there is minimal meat damage and none have ever taken a step.

I've been shooting them at 3,550 FPS in a 6.5-300Wby. As said, excellent accuracy, 3/8" is not unusual at all. I've shot a bunch of groundhogs at some pretty long ranges and it always expanded. I've taken several whitetail deer with it, although I know I'm driving them too fast. #1: 110# spike. 300 yards broadside. Hit through ribs behind shoulder, 1-1/2" exit. Normal run 50 & fall out. #2: 120# spike. 300 yards broadside. Hit through both shoulders, broke both, 1-1/2" exit. DRT. #3: 120# doe. 150 yards quartering to. Hit on point of near shoulder. No exit, small entry, immense internal destruction. Hit shoulder shattered & ruined, lungs & guts swapped places. A mess. DRT. Same bullet, from wife's .260 Rem: 100# doe, straight on at 125 yards. Hit center of chest, no exit, heart/lungs pulped, bullet went into guts. Ran 10 yards & fell out. I think they're fine for smaller deer if you can limit your shot angles, otherwise, too light/soft. I would have to decline a Texas heart shot, though I would usually decline anyway. My rifle did not like the 125 or 140 Partitions much either, though I think they would be a better choice. I'd like to see a 140 BT, myself.

Pop, I shoot Sierra 140`s in my custom 264, Reminton 700, Krieger, I love what I see on paper and on game, deer, I hope through all the new offerings form Nosler and Hornady, they will se fit to introduce a 6.5, 125, 130 gr Accubond or Interbond, wouldn`t that be the ticket!!!
