Pards, I recently bought a thompson encore pro hunter in 500 S&W, with the regular 20 inch stainless barrel. I would like to load some Hornady500 grain JSP bullets. I can't seem to find any data relating to the longer barrel. I would think that since I have the full 20 inches of tube to burn powder in, even with the heavy 500 grain bullet I could use Viht N-120, or even N-130 powder. The newest (and crappiest book yet) Vihtavouri book lists N-120 for the 350 grain bullet, but I think they are thinking that everyone will be using a 6 or 8 or even 10 inch pistol barrel. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? Danke Schoen. | ||
