Is IMR 4350 ok to use with a 70gn sierra blitzking? I bought it for 85gn but want to go to 70gn.

My 243 does really well with 70gr SBKs and 46.5gr of IMR-4350 with an OAL of 2.72". It's a warm load so work up. Free men should not be subjected to permits, paperwork and taxation in order to carry any firearm. NRA Benefactor

One of my .243's most accurate loads is the 75 sierra in front of a max load of imr 4350. I wouldn't think there would be much difference between the 75 and a 70. Good velocity also. velocity is like a new car, always losing value. BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

Sierra No. 5 says for 70 and 75 gr bullets with IMR4350: Min 41.6 gr 3000 fps Max 44.6 gr 3300 fps For 70 gr Blitzking a COAL of 2.67" For the others a COAL of 2.625" LWD

IMR-4350 is one of the better powders for this round with any bullet weight.

I disagree: It works fine with 80 or 85 grain bullets and under, but higher velocities and a more favoarable (ie. near 100%) loading densities can be obtained with slower powders using 90 to 105 grain bullets. Still, 4350 is not a bad powder with the heavier bullets, it just lags 50 or 75 fps behind some others.

In the two 243's I've loaded for, H-4350 has worked well with 85 gr and heavier bullets. With 75's I've found Varget gave better accuracy. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.

With the lighter bullets I'm having great success with Varget. Good luck. Red C. Everything I say is fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Point of information: The moderator referred to H4350. To my knowledge, load recipes for Hodgden 4350 are not interchangeable with IMR 4350.
