I recently came into almost 1000 old Remington bullets. They are in a red box with white writing on them. The labels say 55gr Match Power Lokt #B22958. They are a hollow point with a concave base. If they were flat base or boat tail I'd just work with them but being a concave base I'm not sure how that would effect pressures or it spiking and I tend to run my .22-250 loads up there. Does anyone have any info on these bullets even if its only when they were made? If need be I can post a picture. Thanks Tim

You are indeed a lucky guy. The Remington PLHP is one of the most-accurate, hold-together, relatively inexpensive Bullets made. Remington made them a very long time ago, quit making them, and then brought them back. They start with a Lead Core and Form it to the proper size and shape. This is easier to do than Forming them inside a Jacket. Once they have the Lead Formed, they "Plate" the Jacket onto the Core. So, the accuracy is amazing and the Plated-on Jacket simply can't come loose. They now use the same Technology for the Ultra-CoreLokts. I use the 50gr 0.224" PLHPs as my normal carry Bullet for my 223Rem. The 55gr should be perfect for your 22-250. They are not "Match" Bullets, but come pretty close for a low cost Bullet. Just use normal Starting Loads found in in Powder or Bullet manufacturers Manuals that is for Lead Core Bullets. Watch for all the normal Pressure Indicators as you increase the Load and you will do fine. Great Bullet for Dog size critters. Best of luck to you.

The shape of the base has very little to no effect on presures. Load em and shoot e like they was flat base. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Good bullets, the concave base effects nothing. I have a stash of Remington Bench Rest bullets. Aim for the exit hole

Lordy, I'm jealous. Had I know the Rem management dummies were going to drop those bullets I'd have laid in large stash. They shoot as well in my .22-250 as anything else and nothing else has ever done as well in my .243. Sure do miss 'em for the .243 anyway.

Well, the stool shooters kinda did it to themselves with their relentless attacks on any and all things factory. If it wasn't made under a hollow log by one of their small shop buddies, it was, by definition, trash. The .224 Rem BR bullets I have will run with anything I've found. Aim for the exit hole
