I think I found my squirrel/practice load.
405 cast bullet behind 11 grains of Unique with cotton ball filler. Around 900ish fps, almost no recoil and very low noise. I measured from the markings the lead left. Picture is almost exactly life size.


Edit: Well, the picture didn't come out the right size, but you can see that it's a pretty good group.


Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Nice group Tyler.
I used 13 grains of Unique behind a 255 grain SWC with a one square of Kleenex tamped back on the powder.

Yes it's in my 45-70. Arky, do you use a 255 .458 bullet? If so, where do you get them? I can't wait to try to some real light collar button bullets with some Unique. Should be a dandy squirrel load, 150 grains at 1000 fps. I'm hoping the trajectory will be similar to a 22 LR.
