I think I found my squirrel/practice load. 405 cast bullet behind 11 grains of Unique with cotton ball filler. Around 900ish fps, almost no recoil and very low noise. I measured from the markings the lead left. Picture is almost exactly life size. ![]() Edit: Well, the picture didn't come out the right size, but you can see that it's a pretty good group. Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too! Recent college grad, started a company called MK Machining where I'm developing a bullpup rifle chassis system. ![]()

Nice group Tyler. I used 13 grains of Unique behind a 255 grain SWC with a one square of Kleenex tamped back on the powder. Jim "Whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force." --Thomas Jefferson

Yes it's in my 45-70. Arky, do you use a 255 .458 bullet? If so, where do you get them? I can't wait to try to some real light collar button bullets with some Unique. Should be a dandy squirrel load, 150 grains at 1000 fps. I'm hoping the trajectory will be similar to a 22 LR. Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!
