On my burn rate chart Tubal 2000 is equivalent to H4198. I haven't used 2000 so can't help you here but did use a bit of Tubal 5000 (H4895 equivalent) for reloading the 303 British. Seemed to give good results although was quite coarse grained so did not meter well.

I have used Vectan AS for reloading 12 gauge over many years and also in recent years, in light cast bullet loads in my 404 Jeffery. This fast powder is the cleanest burning I have ever used or seen used.

Rich,

What calibers are you interested in reloading? I don't think this powder is made anymore, but I still have a couple of canisters which I bought to use with 235 grain bullets in my .375 H&H Magnum.

It's got the fastest burn rate of the French made rifle powders, used quite a bit in the .222 Remington/223 Remington as well as the .458 WinMag. If you want the manufacturer's suggested loads for any particular caliber don't hesitate to PM me.

If it is suitable:

6,5x284
6,5x68S
8mmx68S
308Win
I somehow ended up with a nearly full 30lb +/- keg of it.

thanks,

Rich

And it is suitable also for 500 S&W magnum (compressed). Could give very high velocities with some bullets.

Will try if I will get any here.

The 6.5 mm calibers really need slow powders.
The only loads listed in the French hand loading books for .308 Winchester are for cast bullets. Max load for the RCBS n° 30-150 GC is 21 grains for 1460 FPS (start lower! ) and the max load for the RCBS n° 30-180 GC is 20 grains for 1558 FPS (here again, start lower!).
8X68S also needs slow powders, nothing listed for Tubal 2000.

Unless you are loading for gas checked cast bullets, Tubal 2000 is really for the 22 caliber rifles or the big caliber/small case calibers like 375 Winchester, 444 Marlin, 458 WinMag. If you have one of the .22 caliber varmint rifles there are lots of loads.

I could only find one pistol load, 357 Remington Maximum with the Speer 200 grain n°4231 bullet. 22 grains max for 1510 FPS.
