A while a go someone posted for reloading.. with light bullets start small powder and work up and for heavy bullets start heavy and work down.. is this ringing bells to anyone. He was saying that it was his rule of thumb. I was feeding my boy his bottle tonight and that is what was stuck in my head. thanks

This certainly wouldn't be my recommendation! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Winston Churchill

It doesn't pass the sanity test.

After reading your post and knowing you have a baby in the house it is painfully obvious you are suffering from sleep deprivation! The only safe and sane way to work up loads is from low to higher powder charges regardless of bullet weight. Get some rest you'll be alright.

I may be wrong, but, I think maybe he was meaning a heavy powder, not a heavy "charge" of powder?? I dunno

It seems that this is true: Lighter bullets start with faster powders and work toward slower and with heavier bullets start with slower powders and work toward faster (keeping in mind that all charges need to be kept within safte limits). ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

I'd find it difficult to believe anyone would post that on "this" Board. People who post dangerous loonacy get laughed off the board after getting a good reaming. Be sure to tell your son you were mislead by a fool. And as the others have said, always work from Low toward High, when the Pressure Signs indicate it is OK to do so. If they indicate High Pressure from the beginning, STOP and determine what is causing the indication. Best of luck to you and your son.

I'll side with Woods and say that the "intent" of the meaning was probably to suggest faster powders for the lighter bullets and slower powders for the heavier bullets. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside
