Would like to get top velocity and excellent accuracy using an Extreme powder.
Nosler .300 Win. mag. brass
180 Accubond
Federal GM 215 m primer
The load will be shot from a 25.3" Hart barrel.
What do you think ?

Nothing wrong with the extreme powders. The slower like H1000 and retumbo you will need toget into the compressed load area for max velocities. 4831 will be right at 100% at max pressure but you stand to leave some potential velocity on the table.

As usual just my $.02

Mr. Hundley. Have you ever heard of Kleingunther ? A Seguin, TX shop that put together some very fine rifles over the years. My father used to drop in there on his way to the deer lease b/4 Mr. Kleingunther died. Spent some $ also. Dad obtained their load data printed on a piece of paper. They loaded for most of the Weatherby line and others. 95% of their loads used H4831. I used their load for my 3 Winnie and was very happy. It uses 165g pills, but I'll bet it will work w/ your 180g.

Have a 300 WM and ramrod340 is correct, best powder would be Retumbo, then H1000.

Here is my Retumbo data using 26" barrel and 180 NBT, which are essentially non-bonded Accubonds.

Ret… 83.0 180 NBT 3046
Ret… 84.0 180 NBT 3200/3178
Ret … 85.0 180 NBT 3147 (Lapua)
Ret … 85.5 180 NBT 3167 (Lapua) 3200/3178 (Win)
Ret … 86 180 NBT 3171 (Lapua)
Ret … 86.5 180 NBT 3182 (Lapua) 3178/3215 (Win)
Ret … 87 180 NBT 3207 (Lapua)
Ret … 87.5 180 NBT 3221 (Lapua) 3257/3255/3253 (Win)
Ret … 88 180 NBT 3233 (Lapua) 3288 (Win)
Ret … 88.5 180 NBT 3241 [MAX!] Too hot! Extraction marks - Win
Ret … 89 180 NBT 3283 [loose pockets]

Start low and move up, looking for pressure signs.

Regards, AIU

Nothing at all wrong with 4350. I used it in about everything for years. If you are happy with the velocity and accuracy then by all menas go for it. Since it is a touch faster you will simply leave some velocity potential on the table.

I agree, but to tempt. sensitive for me ! Have already shot out one barrel using RL-22 over the Oheler in different tempts. so I am familar ! Great powder for a .300 Win. if the swings in velocity and lots don't bother you.
Thanks,
Jim
