Am going to be buying a chronograph in the next few days and I was wondering what model people here use. I most likely am going to buy the Oehler 35, and upgrade with the printer later.

What is the price range of the pact? The Oehler is around $345 with the printer and $225 without.

I have the oelher 35P with the proof channel.

Very good tool, the only problem is that things get pretty involved when you set it up. I keep it all in its own duffle bag, tripod and all. Takes me 10 or 15 minutes to get the whole thing up and running. I like the large shooting area in the skyscreens.

Get the printer, it is definitely worth the extra $$$.

My frined has a small inexpensive chronoy, what it lacks in sturdiness and shooting area it more then makes up for in ease of set up. Its nice to bring along if you just want to set up to chronograph one or two loads, but I prefer the Oelher.

My frined has one of these

Newguy,

We have tried all of them, and found the Oehler to be the absolute best.

It is more expensive, but I do not think any other can come close to it.

Thanks for all of the replies. Is the four-foot spacing better than the two-foot spacing on the sky screens? I have an old brochure and for all of the stuff I want to get the price is going up.... ~$425 for the 35P, 4 foot mounting rail, and carrying case.

The 4' spacing yeilds more accurate results, the down side is that you must bring two tripods to the range insted of one.
