I've scoured the Redding website for these calibres in S type with no joy - Redding don't make them. Does anyone get round this problem by using the 280 Rem neck size die for 7X64, and 300 Weatherby Mag for 300 H&H? I am specifically looking for a bushing type die, and Redding is supposedly the last word in these dies. I'm basing this on the fact that a 300 WM is a blown out 300 H&H and the 280 Rem is a longer necked 7X64. Any suggestions? Pete

Pete, Your idea to use a die for some other cartridge should work. Be careful with the 280 die as the shoulder may be tight on diameter. I am no longer keen on any neck sizing dies except the Lee Collet type. With the Collet dies the 280 should work and so would the 300 Weatherby if they make them in those calibers. The Collet dies are easy to modify and change parts in as well to make up an unusual cartridge. Lee will custom make them as well.

Savage, I do have a Lee collet die for the 300 and it works real well, just the neck tension is a little on the slack side. The 300 groups half-moa but I know the rifle wants to do better (OK it is a Mauser and the pin falls with all the majesty of a Caddy trunk lid). I am investing in a Forster case inspector to check what the run-out is like with the Lee. If it is 2-3 thou I guess I'll let it be, and invest in something for the rifle, like a Tubb firing pin. The 7X64 is an ancient M70, but I am loading this with a standard RCBS die. It can be a tack driver but the 3 in 1 hole has eluded me for 18 years shooting this rifle. I guess I can waterpaper the Lee's stem down with some 600 grit but all my pals in F-Class say these Redding dies are the answer. However they all shoot 30-338 and 25-06, not 7X64 or 300 H&H.
