Anybody got a recipe for these components; 110 Nosler AB, H414. The Nosler manual seems very conservative at 47 grns W760 max. Jim fur, feathers, & meat in the freezer  "Pass it on to your kids" | ||

As a general rule when working up a load for an AI, I start at the max load for the standard cartridge. Depending on the cartridge the charge can be increased from 2-5%. If the load you are using from the Nosler manual is already for the AI version, that is the max load from their testing. If with that load you are in the 3000-3100fps range you are where you should be. You can maybe gain another 50-100fps by pushing pressures to the max, but why? | |||

Nosler #6 and #7 list 45.5gr of 760 as Max for the 110gr Accubond in the 257 Roberts AI at 2981fps out of a 24 inch barrel. Quickload has this load at 2956fps, 48,043psi. QL list the Max Average pressure at 51,488psi. If you want more than that with 760 you will have to load to higher pressure than 51K. What kind of rifle are you loading for and can it handle higher pressures? The 257 is one of those cartridges that runs at lower pressures due to some older weaker actions that can't handle the pressures of a modern bolt action. | |||
