I am trying to find a favorite load for my Rem 700 ADL. I have tried various load, different bullets 150-180gr, Speer and Hornady. So far I have not able to get a consistent grouping. I got couple shots tight next to each others then the third one would be two inches away. It has been frustrating. My son said it is my shooting skill Frowner.

I am going to isolate the problem one variable at a time. If you shoot the same gun, I would appreciate if you can tell me what is your favorite load for the gun, brass, powder #gr, bullet #gr.

Thank for your help.

You could try looking here https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4911043/m/910104552 There are lots of different loads.

Well I have a Remington Model 700 ADL with the synthetic stock. I reload my own ammo and have had very good luck using the following:

Remington Brass,
CCI Primer
IMR 4064 Powder
Nosler 150 grain ballistic tip

I use 50 grains of IMR 4064 in my load and I have had my gun at the range and get a 3 shoot group at 100 yards about the size of a quarter. I am very pleased with that setup.

I have taken two deer with this setup and only one shot dropped them in their tracks.

50.5grs. of Varget with any good 150 grain bullet should give you good to very good accuracy. I use CCI primer with Rem. brass and Nosler BTs.

57.5-58grs. H4350 with a 165 Hornady is a sure bet with 210M primers, or 50grs. RE15 with same bullet should be a keeper. Actually waiting for my brother-in-law to test that last one out. But I'm pretty confident it'll be an accurate load. jay

My 700 ADl really likes a 165gr Hornady SP over 57.0gr of IMR4350. It is a pretty warm load, but it is a classic and I can get about 3/4" groups off the hood of a truck with it.

Nosler offers up a couple of tremendous loads for the 30-06 - both Re-22. 1) 165 gr. Nosler bullet, 24" barrel, 63 grs., 3002 fps, and 2) 180 gr. Nosler bullet, 24" barrel, 61 grs, 2872 fps. Impressive performance, and QL estimates ~60,000 PSI for each. Worth tryng.

Also, check out the latest Barnes manual. They offer tremendous loads for the XLC line of bullets.

I have to agree with the H-4350 loads, This powder is not sensative to tempature. Therefore is a great consistant load in any weather...My $.02.... Maddog

Thank you all for the info. For the loads, are these with the IMR4350 powder?

Any of these powders work very well in the .06:
IMR4064
IMR4350
IMR4831
H4350
H414
Re19
Re22.

I have a tack driving load with WW brass, Fed210M, 168 Barnes TSX, and 55.0 H4350. Federal's factory 165Btip shoots 1/2" in my rifle. IMR4064 with 180 Speer Spitzers is one of my best loads.

The Nosler loads are with Reloader 22. Best Hodgdon manual load is with a 165 GR. SIE SPBT (COL: 3.300"; H4350 59.0g 2938fps 49,400 CUP (~60,000 PSI).

Using H4350 QL predicts the following:

Cartridge: .30-06 Spring.
Bullet: .308, 165, NOS PART SP 16330
Cartridge O.A.L.: 3.340 inch or 84.84 mm
Barrel Length: 24.0 inch or 609.6 mm
Powder: Hodgdon H4350

Grains fps ft.lbs psi

59.62g 2865fps 3008ft# 56,480
60.86g 2929fps 3143ft# 60,659
62.10g 2993fps 3282ft# 65,197

Notice how close QL predicts the actual Hodgdon measurements.

The following is the IMR4350 data:

Cartridge: .30-06 Spring.
Bullet: .308, 165, NOS PART SP 16330
Cartridge O.A.L: 3.340
Barrel Length: 24.0 inch or 609.6 mm
Powder: IMR 4350

58.80g 2963fps 3216ft# 60,677
60.00g 3022fps 3347ft# 65,033
