Good morning all you reloading gurus out there. Looking for loads for Woodleigh 300 grain softs for .340 Weatherby. I've emailed a request to Woodleigh. Responses are greatly appreciated.

Pat, I've never loaded a 300 grainer but Bob Hagel listed 82 grs of H-4831 for 2629 fps and 82 grs of MRP for 2591 fps under a Barnes 300 grain RN, which would seem to be pretty close to the Woodleigh design judging from the photos. Barnes also quoted 86 gr of H-870 for 2475 fps in a flyer of years gone by. I have had good success with IMR-7828 using 275 grain bullets and suggest trying that (or RL-22) for load development. About 2500 to 2600 fps seems a reasonable goal.

Harald, thanks for the info, I forgot to check Barnes and expect to hear from Woodleigh after the 25th, a vacation. 25-2600 is right where I would like to be. Thanks again.
