You all have to try this load in your 270s.
this will deffinatly give the 270WSM some competition if not beat it for velocity.

Vihtavuori N560 56gr - 61gr for 130gr projectiles ( out of the VV manual) expect to get over 3000FPS


I dont own a 270 but heard this was one of the best loads as far as velocity goes.

I used it in my 280ackley and flew over 3000FPS with 162gr A-maxs. I guess it would work wonders in 25-06 and 30-06. loves those long and skinny cases!

In my experiance the 270 WSM will out perform any smaller case. Nor do I find that case shape matters all that much.

Look at this site with a lot of pressure tested data and compare the two cartridges and the larger one beats the smaller one as it should.

ive broke 3200 fps with re-22 and 130 xlc''s in my 270 wcf.
your smokeing them 162 a-maxs out of that 280ai, heck my sako 75 ss stw pushed 160 ab at 3150, 3 shots in your pinky nail.

Yes i have heard that those A-maxs are going faster than you would expect! although for accuracy they are liking it at 2910 which is good enough for me! that is out of a 26" barrel which helps a little

nothing wrong with a 26 inch pipe,she''ll burn cleaner ,swing and balance better.
223,220 swift,25-06,308, 30-06 338 wmag,all have 26 inch pipes or longer soon to join them is a new 300 wmag.
