HI,

I am looking to get another rifle down the road and I see that in this cal,9.3X62, many people say that these bullets,RWS TUG, are very good?.If anyone here has used them on game let me know how they are and if you have any recovered pics that would be great also. My question is where can I buy or even find them on a web site?, I have tried but I cannot find any web site that even has them?,Thanks,Kev

They were (and are) popular in Central Europe. They were THE "controlled expansion" bullet to be used for heavier game for many years. Of late, they have probably lost market share to other constructions - partly because they (and other Brenneke constructions, such as TIG) tend to splitter quite a bit, the jacket is some nickle alloy, as opposed to a more common copper alloy (if memory serves). That still does not disqualify them, they are still a deep penetration bullet, and the sharp edges they share with TIG and TOG produce nice cut hair when they hit - probably the second most important sign of a hit - after blood.

Have you looked at this webpage: Brenneke ?? Follow the "New Products", "Products", "Rifle Bullets", "TUG" links.

Sorry, don't know who carries them in the States, Old Western Scrounger, or Huntingtons, maybe?

One of my friends has used them in his 9,3x74 which is in the same velocity range as the 9,3x62. He found them too "though" (not enough deformation) and changed to Partitions.
The TUG's will probably work well on really big game when maximum penetration is wanted, and are probably better suited for the 9,3x64.
