The latest Hornady manual has 7mm Dakota Data in it and I believe that the Barnes #2 does also (Dakota sells it).
With my Model 10 7 Dakota I got the same velocities as the manual with 3-4grs less off the same powder! This is a round that you want to start off even further back than usual when working you way up. Good luck, it's a neat round just be more cautious than normal and watch your velocities..............DJ

I have a #1 in 7mm Dakota. I pretty much stick to the 160gr bullets but have played w/ the 140 & 175gr. My 26"bbl. #1 likes IMR7828 & RL22 for all bullet weights. I easily reach 3250fps w/ exc. accuracy rom the 160gr bullets, 3400fps w/ 140gr. As dj stated, Hornady has data, but vel. are a bit off from my rifle. I find for my rig, it's close to a 7mmSTW. PM me if you want some specific data.

I am planning on using a 168gr with 7828IMR. Looks like I should start around 62gr and max around 73gr..........Does this jive with all of your data guys?

Jordan, it's personnal perference for most guys on bullets, blondes vs red heads. If your shots are all going to be beyond 300yds, then you might get by w/ a cup/core bullet, but if you end up w/ a 80yd shot, well a 160gr bullet impacting @ 3100fps+ is going to make a mess out of the bullet. I like the 160grNP as an all round bullet for close to far, it's also very accurate out of my #1S. The NAB is also a good choice but I haven't taken any game w/ it yet. SGK & SMK, not for me thanks, JMO.
