Jake, 57grs. H4350 with 150gr. Sierra or Hornady, I'd think 51grs. RE15 might work very nicely, also. Actually, I'd try the latter first, since I'm a big fan of RE15, but the H4350 load was used by a couple of hunting buddies, in which I loaded for them, and did a very good job on deer, Jay PS. I hope we're talking about the 30-06 here. [ 09-19-2003, 07:02: Message edited by: Jay Gorski ]

My normal load for the 7400 and for an M1A is 43.7 grains of BL-C(2) in LC 7.62 Nato cases. This may be a bit warm for a starting load. I bought my 7400 used and it did not shoot factory Core-Lokts worth a damn. First handloads grouped at about an 1" at 100. Was VERY relieved and pleased! Apparently cleaning a 7400 is a problem over a long period of time ... folks on this forum don't like them very much as a result. Mine gets used for 1 to 2 deer a year and a few rounds for sight-in check. It's never failed to deliver meat to the freezer.

In my 742's and BAR 30-06 I use: VARGET@ 48.0 Nosler 180 Part CCI BR2 Primers Fed Prem Cases I also use RCBS Small Base Dies. I find VARGET and Reloader 15 work perfect in my auto's due to chamber/port pressures.

So is it an -06 or a 308? And if it won't handle factory ammo, back to Remington it should go. - Dan
