I am building a 22 BR and need dies. Normally, I use RCBS, but they want something like $125 for a set of 22 BR dies! So, I've found Redding and Forster, both coming in a little under $50. Since I haven't used either brand, any recommendations one way or the other? The rifle will be used for groundhogs and informal paper shooting. Thanks!

I have about a half-dozen sets of Forster dies, and really like them. They are now my first choice in dies. The quality if far better than any of the RCBS dies I have. There is much less bullet run-out with the Forster dies. I have several sets of the Redding standard dies, and prefer them to RCBS. A friend who uses the Redding bench rest dies really likes them. I think if you buy either the Forster or Redding, you will be much more satisfied than with your RCBS dies.

Thanks Dale! I just placed an order for a set of Reddings (I know you prefer Forster, but the Reddings were on sale... ) That was the last link in the process (I already have the action, barrel, and reamer, and brass is on the way), so it looks like the project is a go!

ONe suggestion would be to call Sinclair and get set up with Wilson inline dies and an arbor press. Much more consistent and once you use these you never go back. RC Repeal the Hughes Amendment.

An update... After re-reading this and the "best BR dies" thread, I was able to cancel my order and replace the Reddings with a set of Forster dies. They showed up today. (Some more of that Midway service... took two whole days! ) Yep, I think I'm gonna like them!
