Just wanted to take the opportunity to both of you in the same thread Just got back from the Sporting Rifle Match at Whittington. It was 23 degrees for the high and the wind blew the snow horizontally varying from 5 to 25 mph measured on my Kestrel thingy. It could be 5 mph during your first target and by the last 25 mph! I used the horribly inconsistent RL-25 powder in my .300 WM with the 208 A-Max. (for HC) I also DIALED ELEVATION for every target and held off for the fickle wind. (for woods) I shot good, finished 2nd because another guy was Super-Human yesterday

I too send my congratulations. Ever since I heard about these sporting rifle courses at Whittington I have thought this to be a great match. I'm just too old and fat! While I have never used horribly inconsistent RL-25 powder. I use as equally horribly inconsistent RL-15 powder in most everything I shoot. I would say that you shooting prowess is excellent! Only exceeded by your ability to humorously jab those who do not share your choices! I salute you, sir! Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. Okay, I'll bite You could have won if you had used a ballistic reticle because you must have made a mistake putting in your calculations on your I-phone thingy or your scope did not move the exact distance you thought it was moving when you clicked it in! You were just damn lucky to place at all! The only thing that saved your ass was the RL powder! ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

Close, but fouled down the left field line! HC? Thanks Ramrod and Rusty! You should try to make one of the shoots! You'd have a ball!

Welllll..., that 1st Place Finisher was probably using Hodgdon Powder which gave him much better consistancy. And probably just read the Grass Tips, picked the correct Mil-Dot, "leaned into" the wind a bit and delicately carressed that excellent Walker Design Factory Trigger. ----- Were there only two of you shooting?

Ding ding ding ding ding ding! We have a winner! woods was close but HC just about nailed it! All that AR war experience! I really wanted to see: "Yeah, the guy who won was using Hodgdon powder and held "over and off" with his Zeiss Rapid Z".

Someone mentioned either Leepers or BSA makes the Scopes and Super Whamo-Dyne THINGY Reticles for them, so they gotta be good uns(maybe).
