could anyone reccomend any ballistic/ reloading software preferably directed at wildcatters or other people into designing their own cartridges or just developing their own loads?

QuickLoad and Accuload will both do what your asking.
I don't know the website for purchasing Quickload offhand, but Accuload can be purchased from www.AEMemt.com .
Look up "HockeyPuck" on the wildcat forum, IIRC he was involved with parts of the Accuload program.

RCBSload has a nice cartridge designer feature BTW, but it dosn't do any internal ballistics stuff (the 2 mentioned above do internals)

Here is a good comparison. While I own Loadtech(the internal ballistic portion of Accuload) I think Quickload gives better ability to over ride information.
