I recently picked up a model 788 in 6mm and am looking for whitetail load recommendations. The rifle has a 1:9 twist, so I'm thinking of something in the 80/100gr arena.

Thanks in advance

You're in luck, 3X luck!
Look no further than the 85's, 95's, and 100's in Nosler's Partition line.

My accuracy loads for years were: 75 gr. Hornady hp 45.5 gr IMR 4350........ 100gr Hornady 43 gr. IMR 4530. Sierras 85gr BTHP also shot good.

I'm seriously thinking about trying the Barnes bullets in 85-90 gr.. Just for grins.

I have had great success in my 6MM Remington using 100gr partitions and 46 grains of H4381. Have taken well over 30 whitetails, mulies and speed goats with this one. Farthest shot about 300 yards but the majority around 200 yards. Only one needed a second shot.

I second the load that 6mm sent it is one of my most accurate loads.I also like the Hornady 87gr SP in front of 48gr RL19.Took my antelope with this load this year. He dropped at the shot, I hit him in the neck on a front quartering shot and it left a nice hole out of the ribs at 260 yds.
