Sirs, A friend finally has his FFL and has agreed to take an 8x60s project that I've been discussing with him for years. As such, I will need ammunition sooner or later and need some good loads. I will also need a set of dies, brass, and case length measuring tools. Therefore:
Information on the 8x60s is sort of scarce. Can anyone educate me on this interesting metric cartridge? Thanks! Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

Tex 21: Congratulate your friend , I don´t know what is he intending to hunt but it´s a great caliber. I own three different rifles in this caliber and if you don´t try tyo convert it in a magnum it will take most of animals in the States. For brass I use good 30-06 brass and convert it to 8x60 without problems with some triming and the original 8x60 die which you could buy at Huntingtons. For loads I give you my personal e-mail and you write me . Is very dificult for me to put here an excel table gtrotz@lamariapilar.com.ar sincerelly gtrotz

Good luck with your project. I'm working with an 8x60J (0.318), and using RWS and Norma brass. Can find RWS brass at Natchez Shooters Supply, and Norma brass occasionally at online auction sources. Be glad you have a 0.323 bore rifle instead of mine, finding 0.318 bullets is a serious pain. The loads suggested in the Norma manuals work well, same for Cartridges of the World and Lapua. I found that the top/hottest loads are just that, so follow the work it up slow routine carefully. My dies are RCBS, from Huntingtons. The 8x60 can do anything the .30-06 can do. Have fun, LLS
