Winchester XP3 bullet Any opinions on how this compares to the Federal/Speer trophy bonded tipped bullet, the Barnes MRX, etc? Looks to me mostly like the MRX. Can the xp3 be purchased for reloading? Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns

the xp3 reminds me of the old winchester fail safe... but with a polymer tip. the barnes MRX is similar but has a "heavier than lead" insert, and costs WAY more than I'm willing to pay for components. I can't tell if the xp3 is just lead or some fancy metal. either way I like the design more than the solid TSX bullets I'm not seeing any of the xp3 for sale as components yet...

Doc, never found them available as components, and you are right, they are real close to an MRX. I shot a bunch of them (40) in factory ammo--308 150 gr in my 308 with a Kostyshyn barreled Sako 75 in custom McMillan Edge stock, barrel I got from a real good guy I know on a hunt in Texas. Blistered through the 3 whitetails like a TSX or whatever, pencil in, pencil out, but probably more on point, they were awesome on hogs. Put the hammer down on over a dozen BIG feral pigs at that ranch. I actually liked these bullets perfromance, and they were very accurate out of this rig.

Hey, I've been meaning to ask you how that 308 turned out. Did you ever get anything completed with the 308 Obermeyer? I used mine on a Sako 308 and it is doing very well. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns
