I just destroyed my 2nd kinetic bullet puller. They both have cracked the plastic after mushrooming the striking end. They both had pulled several hundred rifle cartridges.

Is there a better more durable option?

RCBS Collett puller I threw the plastic hammer away.

yeah, I second the RCBS puller too.

Just don't over tighten it when pulling, and you won't even hardly know the bullets have been pulled

The Hornady Cam-Lock puller is also very popular, mainly because of its ease of use. For the practical, end-cutter pliers will work also; pad the bullet with a piece of leather or something similar.

BTW, none of these will work on the Forster press, if that's what you happen to have.

Will second the Hornady Cam lock puller.
Can really burn through a bunch of bullets with it once set up if that is what you need to do.
Remember, you cannot pull wad cutters or anything that doesn't "stick up" a bit from the case mouth.
I keep a kinetic puller available for those cases or when I need to just pull one or two bullets.

if you're pulling a bunch then the hornady or rcbs shine, but if you're only pulling a couple then the knettic is the tool

Russ Haydon sell a puller that grips the bullet while at the top of the stroke on a normal press and then you just lower the handle. Safe, clean and you don't damage the bullet. It is like a pair of pliers that have rounded smooth jaws that friction grip the bullet. Works good.

I have the RCBS, Forster, Hornady, and the kinetic.

I like the Hornady cam over best for multiple pulls.

For just one uncrimped pull, I use the kinetic.

Harbor Freight has had 10" end cutters on sale for $3.95 (plus tax).

I have used RCBS's platic kinetic puller for a long while. What gave me the most problems was the soft aluminum handle which tends to bend. Since I was so uncertain of the plastic, I have always hit it on a piece of softwood. It takes a few more hits than whacking it on something harder, but I have not broken it yet.

But then, I don't pull that many bullets.
