New RCBS Dies

Just had my first customer service issue with RCBS ever. I just purchased a new set of 416 Rigby FL dies. Before I go on, they were very nice and went "above and beyond" to get me back at my loading bench. Kudos to the customer service folks at RCBS.
Now the downside. After sizing a couple hundred cases, the expander ball stem seperated just above the expander ball. Seems the new dies are made with a smaller diameter stem than the old dies. And, the stems are not interchangeable. Probably won't ever be a problem in standard calibres but those loading the larger boomenschutzers ought to be aware. I'll get my order together for a new Redding die ASAP.

If I may comment on your die situation...I have RCBS,Redding, and just got Forster Benchrest dies, and the Forsters, simply outclass the Reddings, and the Redding's are very good...FWIW my friend.
I will be checking runout w/ the Forster's any day now... .sakofan..
RCBS customer service is excellent, I had the exact samw problem with the stem, and they were happy to replace, free of charge.....

I have to admit that RCBS customer service is excellent.

I bought a set of dies used and it turned out that the expander ball was worn out and they were scratching my cases also. I sent the die to them and they sent me a brand new die no questions asked and absolutely free of charge. [Big Grin]

Yep, Love the service but don't like the lightweight rod in my new die.
