brassbullets1NEED STARTING LOAD FOR M1 GARAND USING IMR-4895
I am going to load 150 gr and 163 gr for my M1 garand , ( 30/06) anybody have a starting load using IMR-4895 for both bullets that is safe for oper. rod. thanks for all info

hivelosityCheck you reloading manual 150 should start at about 46grs, and 163 around 45 grs. velocity will be around 2600f/s for both. Pressure is the key try to stay in the range of 44K to 46K it should operate the action with out any hitches,

SR4759Since this is your first post on the site what assurance do you have that some goof ball will not give you bad data?

Keith1I use 47 grains of 4895 and 150 grain Speer. Works good.

brassbullets1thanks for all info, i have been loading 25+ years but not for garands ,just wanting to see what some people say. there is some bad info out there. i did find this link, i have been told these are max loads, need to back off 10%

iamgene47.5 grains IMR 4895 with a Std LRP behind a M2 ball, Hornady FMJ or M80 147 BT's with LC brass. Lee Factory Crimp perfect too.
