I've got a can of Hodgdon Titewad shotgun and pistol powder. The on line Hodgdon reloading manual says the max load for a .45 ACP is 3.3 gr. with a 230 gr. FMJ bullet and it produces a muzzle velocity of 767 ft./sec. This is a bit below the US GI ball which produces a velocity of 830 ft./sec. I'm afraid that this max load won't be enough to cycle my 1911's properly. I've had problems with my 1911's smoke stacking and failing to eject because of previous weak loads. Any comments?

that seems low for a powder that's in the same burn range as red-dot. did they give a pressure?
