I usually reload my 22.250 with Australian ADI powders and get good results.

I have been given 2lbs. of W748 and was wondering if anybody has used this in a 22.250 with any success.

I shoot a Ruger M77 Mark2 VT fitted with a 26" Ruger target barrel.

I also generally use Nosler 55grn. Ballistic Tips.

Thanks in advance.

I used a lot of this powder years ago,it hasn,t been available for a long time out here in AUSTRALIA. An winchester book states 55g projectile 34g 3500fps. old Nick Harvey book 33g 3400fps, max 35gr 3600fps with the long barrel start real low then work up, may be 30gr

This powder has always been a bit of an enigma to me. I've shot some great groups with WW748 in my .222 and my .22-250 as well. I've also shot some real stinkers. I haven't used it in a few years, but it left me with some pretty dirty necks. Possibly it's temperature sensitive. I don't really know. I get much better results in my .22-250Rem. with IMR4064 and lately with Varget. Best wishes.

While I support Mr. Sibley's suggestion of IMR 4064 in the 22/250, I have loaded it for a nephew's rifle. We use it because he also shoots a 223, 30/30 and a 7/08. It is a useful powder in all of them.

Just keep velocity under what is max rated and we have had excellent results with it.
