I’m reloading for a 40 S&W Springfield Armory Trophy Match 1911. I have recently gotten a good deal on SP magnum primers. Can I use these in the 40 and if so do I have to adjust powder levels?

They should work okay, but if you're near max I'd re-work the load from the "starting load" and progress back up. Mag primers are a bit hotter and may bump pressures higher than standards. I condider it standard procedure to rework my loads with any component change.
