tjones7715Nickle Plated Bullets
Does anyone know why Federal is coming out with a Trophy Bonded bullet that is nickle plated. I have no idea, other than looks, what this will do for a bullet. Will nickle build up in a barrel like copper. I e-mailed federal for an answer but the odds of a reply are slim to none.

idahoelk101Norma has done this for a while and I dont think it creates any problems there.

TailgunnerIs it a nickel plate, or is it a cruppo-nickel alloy jacket?

tjones7715I have no idea. The only thing I know is what I saw in Petersons Hunting Mag. Under new products. It stated nickle plated.

GerardAnyone who has done or been involved in nickle plating, will tell you that nickle deposited on steel can only be removed in one of three ways.
1. Mechanical abrasion, with something harder than the deposited nickle.
2. With a reverse plating process involving a couple of chemicals, one of which is sodium cyanide. (Gas chamber ring a bell?)
3. Sulphuric acid.
Take your pick.
