I know this has been discussed in the past but I need a few more answers that I can't seem to find in the past threads.

I have IMR3031 & AA5744 on hand and lots of 150 grain & 170 grain FP 30-30 bullets. I need load data to turn my 30-06 into a 30-30, ballistically speaking of course. I'm thinking 2000-2200 FPS.

I've seen some data on some of the posts and was wondering what your favorites might be using these powders.

Do you use a filler with the lighter powder charges??

Talk to me.

The LEE Shooter program will give you most any down sized load you want. Also, I have heard that anything above 22 caliber can be dangerous to shoot. The only load I have iis 10 grains of Unique.

Smiler40 gr. of 3031 behind the 150gr.bullet should come very close to what you want. The question in my mind is ,;Will the pressure be high enough to get a good seal at the neck?

I know little about 5744. 22gr. of blue dot would be my choice.

Fillers not necessary. beerroger

Ken Waters 30-30/06 loads:
150gr 30-30 bullet with:
38.1 grains of N-200 Norma factory load.

40 grains of H-322

42 grains of IMR 3031

I have used the 3031 load. Works great.

Thanks, You da Man! I'll give it a try. What kind of velocities were you getting with it? How about accuracy?
