| I shoot 160 Partitions in my 7mm-08. 48gr of Ramshot Hunter gets me just under 2750fps. Thats dam near 280 velocities. The bullet performs great and the deer don't seem to like it to much either. They just kinda tip over and die! |

| I almost forgot I will be deer hunting. Steve4102 thanks for the positive info. I am always leary about tryng new bullet combos, where I go hunting you dont see many deer but if by chance you get a shot at one and kill it they usually dress over 200lbs. "I am in what one would call a dry spell" |

| Nothing wrong with this combination, as it is pretty much the same as I have used for years in the 7x57. Load the 160's to 2700-2800, works on deer, darn good on elk sized game as well.
A shot not taken is always a miss

| I shot the 160's for years in the 708 and they work fine and the longest was at 350 yds. Today my favorite is the 140 TSX but your choice will work just fine. This season I have loaded up the 120TSX just to be different this year. |

| Personally for thin skinned game like deer and moderate velocities of the 7mm-08 I wouldn't bother using partitions.
I use hornady SST's in my 7mm-08 with great sucesses and I think it is one of the better hunting bullets around for the 7-08, the 139, 154 and 162's all work extremely well both at close range and long, they shoot very well and are cheaper than partitions to boot.
It is a bit of a myth that heavier bullets don't work well in the 7-08, the lighest I now use is the 150 sierra game king, but in my oppinion the 154 and 162 SST's are the bullet for the 7-08. |
