I don't have a Swift Reload Manual. I believe the max load for IMR4350 behind a 300g is 76.5g. Can someone please confirm? I ended up getting through to Swift and they confirmed 76.5g is max

Hodgdon says that using a Swift 300 grain bullet, the max load is of 75 grains of IMR4350 and that it is a compressed load. Bullet: 300 GR. SFT AF/SS Starting Load - 67.5 grains at 43,200 CUP for 2,253 fps Maximum Load - 75.0 (C) grains at 47,800 CUP for 2,481 fps Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. I do not understand this at all. Maximum charge in ANY rifle is determined by the rifle. And any shooter who reloads often enough knows that. I have seen rifles that will show signs of high pressure well below book maximum charges. And others that would take several garins more than book and still happy about it.

Absolutely. I work up loads myself from a starting load for all my guns. When I first got a 22.250, everyone told me that 38 grains of H380 with a 55 grain bullet was the accurate load. The first time that I tried it in my gun, I blew out primers and smeared brass from the ejector hole. I agree. I always work my way up, but almost never go over the printed max on a given manual. I've gotten to 75g with no pressure signs, just wanted to know the printed max from Swift.
