Does anyone make a tool for trimming the thickness of the rim of flanged nitro cases from the case side not the headstamp side?

I would also be very interested in such a tool, as Ive had to file the head-stamp side of the rim to get some cases to fit in my rifle.

Mmmm - now there is a thought.

I have a Gibbs Farquharson in 0.303 British. It was re-barelled and on closing on a Mk vii round the block wipes a thin layer of brass from the back of the case. Makes a man slightly nervous on closing the action.

I've been looking at making an end-mill type of reamer to deepen the recess in the barrel to loosen the headspace a tad.

Never thought of thinning the rim. Probably because it might just bend on extraction. A trouble that I picked up when I converted 0.222 cases into a rimmed case for use in a Martini-Henry action. However the 0.303 rim is a lot thicker.

thanks for the idea - edi
