I would look into a silencer for one of your rifles, if they are allowed for hunting in your area.

I have a couple of them and like the way they shoot. Mine are made by George Vais and are priced competitively at around $400-$600 depending on which one you buy and then add the $200 transfer fee.

FWIW I've found the sound of muzzleloaders doesn't carry far. I'm talking about 70 gr with a patched ball or 100 gr with a conical. We have a late MZ season here and its suprising that we can't hear eachother's shots a few hundred yards away.

If the 270 won't do it the .338 will, if the 338 won't I can't afford the hunt!

I'm with you on this one! To this end I am experimenting with muzzle blast deflectors, mini-moderators and if necessary, a full silencer. The mini-moderator adds about an inch to the barrel length and probably cuts the noise by half or more. Hard to tell as I have only just finished it and fired one 2/3 charge load through it - no earmuffs and no ear pain! (22 Hornet - it looks like the logo on the top of this page). I had a larger device on my mini-14 which made the rifle sound like a 22lr when fired in the open.

.....

Check out the Maxim silencer on the web. They don't add much to barrel length as the barrel passes 3/4 of the way into them.

You might take a look at a rifle in 308 Win.
Use either Remington low recoil 125 gr, or Federal 170 low recoil.

I have killed deer and wild pigs with both with no problems.
