| Cliff, You could also try the Hornady 120grHP, and 40.3grs. of H4895, if you insist on the 130, 41.5grs. of RE15 should work pretty well for ya, but since you got some Varget, 40.5grs of that should be good, too. I like the listed powders cause they flow through my Hornady measure pretty good, plus or minus 1/10gr, and they just work well, Jay |

| I had a Ruger 7X51 aka 7mm08 that I could never make shoot as good as I thought it should, about 1 1/2" was the best it would do. I experimented with about a million loads for it and settled on the Speer 130. I think the Hornaday 139 was a hair more accurate, but I wanted the higher velocity. I gave all my date away when I sold the gun, but I think my best accuracy came with W 748.
The bullet worked well on critters, but I think it may get iffy if you start streaching the range. I say this because I used that bullet in a 7x31 and had several critters run quite a ways before going down, before I figured that the bullet wasn't opening up at those velocities. When I switched to a 120, the 7x31 worked great. |

| I used a load out of the Speer manual with IMR4064, WLR primers, Remington cases, and the Speer 130 grain bullet. Used it to take a large southern VA whitetail at about 10 yards, shot it through the shoulder. Rifle is a Remington Model Seven, they shot fine out of it, and so did 154 grain Hornady interlocks, also over 4064... |

| cliffs2: Just last week I shot my first loads with a 7mm-08, using moderate loads with the Speer 130gr. With IMR 4350 in new Win brass, groups were erratic from a Browning BLR with 46.0 grain loads, but tightened up considerably with 47.0 grains. 38.0 grains of IMR3031 produced a four shot group that were all touching one another - I always seem to have good luck with 3031 in 308-based cartridges. I have some more loads to shoot using H4895 and RL19 and hopefully will get out next week to try them. |
