My son-in-law is interested in shooting 300 yard F Class with his Savage rifle. Could y'all please share some of your favorite loads so that I can help him start reloading.
Thanks!

If it's a 1:9 twist or faster 25.3 grains of Hodgen Varget under a 69 grain Sierra MK is the slick trick in my service rifle.

I have a Savage 110FP in 223. 69grain MKs with around 25 grains of either Varget or WW 748 has proved extremely accurate in mine. I only shoot F class at 200 yards, but have grouped my rifle at 300.

In 223, 33 gr Vmax flat base bullet, 15 gr Blue Dot is 3500 fps and shoot very flat and accurate to 180 yards.

But at 220 yards, it needs allot of windage and elevation adjustment.

If I were after a 300 yard .223 load, I would use a heavy boat tail bullet, and use more like 72kpsi near the threshold of long brass life, not the vestibular SAAMI registered 55kpsi loads.
