Is anyone finding any powder yet? The only thing I have found locally is 1 pound of Green Dot and a few pounds of BMG.

Midsouthshooterssupply is posting they expect some powder on March 6th for whatever that is worth.

I am "making do" with what I have, but looking forward to loading using the most efficient powder.

alliant and accurate last time i looked.
i won't be ordering or looking for powder for at least a year, maybe longer.
but there seems to be bits and dribbles of handgun and shotgun powder trickling through here and there.
the manufacture dates are from dec-12 to jan-13.

What about you guys who are overseas or in Canada?
Are you finding reloading components - powder, primers, bullets?

Yep! Was at my local shop last week and they still have lots of everything, even primers!! The only thing I noticed they really don't have is bulk packs of .22lr. The only stock they do have are the CCI chootem troy bulk packs and I think they're only good for gators Wink

Asked how much powder they actually have and buddy who works there took me to the store room where various PALLETS of powder are stored, so I'm not worrying!

As for bullets, lets just say I have enough at home with lots more on the way. My supplier is doing a bulk buy direct from Berger today...which may take a while but again, I'm not worried with the supply I have at home!

There are cracks forming in the supply, with popular types being in short supply.I bought 15 kegs this morning, but couldn't get everything I wanted. Federal primers were cleaned out at that supplier, but I could get 15,000 Win.

Things are OK, with the odd gap opening up on local bullet shelves.215 primers are always the first thing to disappear. In the spring the panic will hit.

Sounds like you guys are in dire need of some leadership up there.
May we export to you our current regime to help you out with your shortages of product?

Wandered into the Sportsman Warehouse after a few rounds of trap this afternoon, noticed a few more canisters of powder. Unfortunately no HP-38/231. Mad

No thank you...it was bad enough having to deal with the Liberal party of Canada during their rein of terror!

Good grief. I grew up in Saskatchewan, got to see Grant Devine work his magic there. When this knucklehead got elected in 2008 singing the same song, figured I,d see the same results.
On a bigger scale. Yikes!!!
As for powder, at the moment I seem to have a better selection than the local small town sportin goods shop that normally has a decent selection of powder in stock.
Currently they have dies, shellholders, last time I was in a bunch of small pistol primers, 3 jugs of H4831, and about 7-8 jugs of assorted powder..
On the positive side, I learned at a young age to never, ever, under any circumstances, trust a liberal.

Was able to find 2000 Mag Pistol Primers, 2 lb of 10X, and several boxes of TTSX bullets at Great Northern Gun Shop in Anchorage couple days back; they treated me fairly in these times of gouging by some. I'll go back for more supplies from them in the future.

Between Cabelas, Midway, and Sinclair; was able to order XTP-mag (240,300) .452, FTX (200) .452, TTSX in 110 & 180 grain .277 & .308. They continue to get supply shipped in but goes out just as fast. Have to back order but you'll get it eventually.

Starline has 460 S&W brass in stock got 500, and back ordered 500 44 mag brass that will be in mid March; you have to order it now to get it in March.

Tried ordering 308 & 6.8 brass from SSA, but they are a year behind; wouldn't even let me back order; they make very good brass; I like it much better than hornady. I did get a bunch of Lapua 308 brass last month, nice stuff and have more back ordered; maybe someday she'll come.

Anybody know about any good 308 or 480 Ruger brass available?

I notice Shooters Pro Shop doesn't have anything on their list, sign of the times.

Picked up a bunch of odds & ends for the future.

Actually, I got my rifle reloading supplies right in 2009; just starting to reload for my revolvers & 1911's. I also want to get into casting my own bullets, alot of rural people do that in Alaska outta necessity.

That's what I got lucky with. Got to back order.

Where's the Lapua or SSA 308 brass????????

Good Luck to everybody.

For all the Alaskans, I just scored on 1000 fed 150Ms and 1000 CCI 300s. I didn't have under 1000 pistol primers, last couple days got 4000 more; feel much better. These last primers came from that gun shop down on the Kenai out soldatna way. I guess I'd start checking all the gun shops.

When things weren't so stressed I would always buy extra cans of 5.56 or 7.62, now I think I will do that with powder when the hysteria settles down (whenever that happens).

Happy sequestration day... not

I bought my .556 in 90-91, $179/case; good Q3131 white box Winchester; it still goes bang. The wifey thought I was nuts too, picking up case after case; she never even questions me spending money on gun supplies anymore; and we have two kids in college just to let ya know how poor we really are.

My real fear isn't gun control, it's taxes or limits on what we can purchase as far as ammo or reloading supplies. I never want to imagine my kids or grandkids not having ammo for moose & caribou.

A friend of mine working in Wyoming called me yesterday, as I had asked him to check around for me there, and found me 5000 Fed 215 and 10 lbs of RL15. Price was a little high but he ended up with it for me. First time he tried. He found the powder in Gillette, WY at one of the well stocked sporting goods stores there. Said they appeared to have plenty of powder and bullets, reloading dies and such.

I live near a Cabelas. The store policy is to put up on the shelves whatever was delivered the night before. So, I try to get their on a weekday morning wait outside 15min before opening on a weekday, race to the reloading section and look for primers, powder and bullets. They had some 700x and Trail Boss in today, I bought a lb of each. They also had quiet a bit of rifle powder, but I don't reload that stuff...

I must be lucky, as my LGS has lots of powder in stock except both brands of 4350. I just use H414 instead (different data of course.)

We're not in bad shape around here except for primers and 22LR cartridges. You can get primers just not the brand that you want or the quantity. You might have to try several shops to wind up with 200 primers. Some dealers are gouging in our area. 9mm and 223 ammo in short to non-existant supply. Some types of powder hard to find. But we're not in as bad shape as some areas. I bought 3 lbs. of powder. 200 small rifle primers and 100 rds. of 22LR yesterday. Dealers had a limit on 22's and primers.

Parts of Australia are experiencing powder issues. And we make our own ADI AR powders.
There are localised reasons such as one of the state department here making tough new rules for retailers to transport powder, but I suspect the issues in the are having some pact here too...

Before everything went so crazy, I wanted to simplify my powder needs. I like Ramshot powders so I bought some TAC, and an eight pounder of both Big Game and Hunter. I have a few thousand standard and magnum primers as well as a bunch of bullets. That should hold me until things get back to normal again.

Bullets are a different problem. I need a couple hundred Hornady 9,3 bullets.
