Has anyone tried these in handloads for the 6.5x54mm M-S? Any other 6.5? Any input would be appreciated. These seem like great bullets for moderate velocity 6.5s. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer. | ||

No but have some experience with the Hornady 160 RN Interloct. Fine bullet in the 260 Remington at 2500- 2600 fps or so. I have never tried 160 gr Woodleigh's but have found accurate loads in a variety of MS 6.5x54's to be 39 gr/IMR4350, 39 gr/H414 or WW760, or 39 gr RL22. Velocities run from 1995 fps in an 18 1/2" 1903 with the 39 gr/RL22 to 2360 fps in an MS 1900 24" barrel with the 39 gr/H414 or WW760. Don't know why 39 gr seems to be the lucky number.....coincidence?? As usual, start low and work up. If the weather warms up here, I am going to the range to try 39 gr/RL17 in my MS 1961 MCA Carbine 6.5x54. Should be the true rest of the "39 gr" theory. Good luck and keep us posted.
