Howdy I just got done doing some chrony work and it was rather suprising. It was a nice day to do it Temp was 58 when i started and 63 when done. The rifle is a masuer 98 with a timney trigger the barrel is 27 in. long in a hogue stock. The chrony was 15 ft from the muzzle. Some loads were just for fun to see what they would do.so here goes,i used rem and winchester brass full length sized, cci 200 primers and the lube was 0ne shot case lube. 90 gr hornaday xtp bullets they adveraged3539 fps with 70 grs of rl-17;125 gr.sierra spitzers 3270 fps;130 gr hornaday spirepoints avg3375 fps;nosler match hps 3419fps with69.3 grs RL-17;winchester 168 gr match hps 3124fps with 68.0 grs. RL-17;speer 170 gr match hps 315468.0 RL-17;180 gr.sierra matchking 3053 fps 66.0 gr RL-17;190 gr sierra matchking 3019 fps 66.0 grs.RL-17.with no bad primer pockets or other problems.I also shot 2 cases to see how long they would last i got tired after 20 shots using both rem and winchester brass they still look good.In between shooting these shells i also shot 3 other rifles and i think i found out why my 22-250 imp dosen't like the varmentnightmare bullets the bts i shot today went 3705 fps for 7 shots in a 1 in 9 twist.so thanks for looking at this.Good Luck | ||
