Hi Folks,
Does any company still manufacture a 300 grain roundnose hunting bullet in .338 or .35 caliber?

The only bullet of this weight I know about is th 300 grain Sierra Matchking in .338.
Thanks for the input.

Hill billy,

Woodleigh make 300 gr bullets in .338 and 310 gr bullets in .358 both round noses.

Woodleigh brand bullets are my favourite.

The long heavy RN 300 gr. Woodleigh is a killing dude in a 338, I have used it extensively along with the 320 gr. in the 9.3x62. A little with the 350 gr. 375 and now I am toying with the 450 gr. 416....

The more I use these big long round nose bullets the better I like them, the old timers in Africa knew what the deal was with them and it appears things have not changed much, except Woodlieghs are 100 times better bullets than those of old...

Bottom line is they sure hammer whatever you shoot with them. Leave big holes and lots of blood on the ground..

Try www.hawkbullets.com
or something like that. They have 300's in 338 and 358 with different jacket thicknesses for faster and slower cartridges.

Thanks for the input. A local pawn shop has a nice sporterized 03 springfield with a very pretty curly maple stock that is just begging to be rebarreled to ..35 whelen or .338/06.
I thinking very seriously about buying it and fixing up an Elmer Keith "tribute" rifle w/ a 2.5x scope specifically throated for these long heavy bullets.

Good Shooting,
HBB
