I got two bottles of Rottweil gun powder made in 1978. Can I use it or should I not? The powder ist original closed.

As long as it was not stored on say, the dashboard of a car it should still be useable. First thing to do is smell it, if it smells acrid then I would not use it. I would not use it even close to maximum loads but for light loads it should be safe.

I should have mentioned also to make sure the containers are in good shape visually, and no evidence of moisture damage nor fading from being in the sunlight.
