I'm looking to buy a Kennedy reloading bench from Cabela as a gift. I'd like to find out if they are stout enough and any good. This is the delux model 54 X20 x35high four metal drawers. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

Buy it! I have one. If there was room in my house I would buy another. It is stout, solid and stable. Definitely five stars. lawndart

Roger, I have that identical bench. It's very well made, and quite rugged. I have my hydraulic Spolar press on it and it's very stable. When I make room I'm going to get a second one. George

I have one I bought at Sears. Looks just like the Kennedy bench but mine was half the price and it just has a particle board type top. I replaced the top with a sheet of plywood. Been using it for 4 or 5 years.

My loading bench is actually a mobile tool chest from Sears with the ball-bearing drawers. Five drawers, holds lots of heavy stuff. Made a 1 1/2" top out of Birch plywood with 1"x2" Oak banding. There's a Rockchucker and Lyman 450 sizer on one end and Forster trimmer on the other end. The powder measure is mounted on the left front. I also have a lamp with a 6" magnafying glass attached for extra light and close-up inspection of cases (also good for reading small print). sometimes naps just happen...

If you're anywhere near Van Wert, Ohio, where Kennedy MFG is at....you have to check out their outlet store. Better yet, send your wife, girlfriend, sister, etc. for you. My sister was visiting friends there, I asked her to stop by to check on prices for a small machinist chest, and a bottom box platform. She came home with two of the largest machinist chests they carry, and two of the two drawer bottom platforms, all with slightly curled corners on the rear(damaged in shipment). She said apparently they'd never had a large busted woman in the outlet store, as when she asked for the models I want, they politely said they didn't have those, and started dragging out the big stuff. She left only paying for one chest, one platform, at the outlet rate, on the small boxes I wanted(just over $100), and they threw in another complete set! Of course, I didn't receive the same treatment when I visited the store shortly thereafter. But an interesting stop nonetheless.

Fireball 168--Sounds like a bargain on those Kennedy chests. Could you perhaps post a picture----of your sister?

I might not get a Christmas present next year if I do that....
